Andrew with Brassica nigra

Andrew in a field of Black Mustard. This pretty herb is thought to have been brought to California by the Catholic mission fathers. It likes to take over in plowed fields like this one in Palos Verdes. It is a real weed and should not be planted near wild areas. Photo copyright Mimi Andersen 2003.
